Filling a void, Providing a voice

For over 60 years the sounds of classical music wafted through the airwaves of St. Louis on Classic 99 FM. But on July 6th, 2010 as the last notes of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 lingered and disappeared, classical music was silenced. Listeners lost their beloved classical station. The outcry was deafening.

After years of planning, enormous work and a few setbacks, a small group of dedicated citizens with a shared belief that true art must never perish successfully realized their goal of bringing Bach back.

On April 8, 2013 classical music returned to St. Louis airwaves with the launch of Radio Arts Foundation-Saint Louis (RAF-STL).

Through our broadcasts and this website, RAF-STL will build a home for the St. Louis fine arts and performing arts community. Tune into 107.3 FM or 96.3 HD2 to hear Bach and Beethoven as well as programming spanning a variety of music genres including orchestral, chamber, jazz, blues, opera, and symphonic music.

RAF-STL is a one-of-a-kind radio station committed to offering outstanding programming in support of the arts for the benefit of the St. Louis community.
